You StayedA Poem by Laura HarrisonI used to be a train wreck; A sad and bitter mess of a girl And all I ever
wanted was for someone to guide me through the depression To warm up my heart and fix the cracks in my soul But all my relationships proved to be a failure like me; I was just a project- something for boys to attempt to fix and then get bored of when they realized that nothing would work. But then I met you- and you had the patience of an angel You never got annoyed when I cried and said that I wasn’t good enough for you And you told me that you loved me every time I told you I didn’t And with every kiss and gentle touch, I felt my heart get a little bit warmer… All of my past lovers ran away, but you saw something beautiful in me and decided to stay. © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
