Humanity

Humanity

A Poem by Laura Harrison

I see humans

But no humanity

Why do people treat others so savagely?

I want to live in a world where kindness exists

I want to live in a world better than this

Everywhere I go I see people getting hurt

I see people leaving others lying in the dirt

Starved children without a home

Many people lost and alone

Death and destruction

Lies and corruption

I see stabbings and abduction

Why does nobody care anymore?

Why is everyone always at war?

We need to treat people the way we would like to be treated

We need to stop being cruel and conceited

Even after all these terrible things

I still have faith in what the future brings

I will always believe that humanity will change

And I am determined to see this happen no matter how long it takes

So true. It's a shame the world is coming to this, but I think it is important that we keep this in mind and stand up and do what we would like to see happen. When one stands up and starts people follow. It's not always easy, but it's the hard work that is worth it. If it were too easy, there would be no point. xo Winter

Y ou and I can make that change. I too feel the same way. I may be considered as a low member of staff where I work but I am a leader and not a follower.I work towards change. We are the agents of change..The power is in us. you have exercised it in this piece.. God bless

I hope for the same things. I hope we put down the guns. Send food, water and medicine. Kindness will open the door to forgiveness and peace. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
