The BrainA Poem by Laura HarrisonI always
thought that the brain looked like a pie chart with different sections showing
what you were thinking. Well, if it
was, every section of my brain would be labelled ‘you.’ When I fell
in love with you, my brain turned to mush. I started
putting salt in my coffee and my phone in the fridge. My writing
turned mediocre- it started to sound like an excerpt from the diary of a love-struck
teenager And I became
accustomed to writing rhymes such as “you are the apple of my eye and the
brightest star in the sky” So I guess
the saying ‘love makes you dumb’ is true But I wouldn’t
mind being stupid for the rest of my life, just as long as you stay in my life
too. © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
