Change Yourself FirstA Poem by Laura HarrisonYou always
talk about changing the world; But what you
seem to ignore is that you are a walking hypocrite. You complain
about how people should be more loving and generous Yet your
heart is as cold as the snow in winter. And I can’t
remember the last time you helped someone without helping yourself too. Your eyes
recognize that everything is black and white in this world and you use your mouth
to remind everyone about it But your
brain and your heart have a layer of dust over them from lack of use. So instead
of changing the world, change yourself; Learn how to
listen before opening your mouth, Look in the
mirror before you point your finger, And start being
the loving and generous person you wish everyone else to be- Because you
may only be one out of 7 billion people on this Earth, but you could make a big
difference if you tried. So wipe off
that layer of dust from your brain and your heart; Bring some
colour into our world. © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
