The Porcelain GirlsA Poem by Laura HarrisonPorcelain
girls; with heart shaped lips and round,
made up eyes, slender bodies and hair that never seems out of place. Porcelain
girls, that look so confident and perfect. Porcelain
girls, that you want to be like But if you
looked a little closer, you would see that their Rimmel lips are only smiling
on the outside. For behind
their eyes is a world of pain and anguish, just like yours. They walk
around with such confidence to trick themselves
into thinking that they are confident. And their make-up
is a mask to the outside world to deceive them into thinking that their lives
are as pretty as their faces But when
they get home and take off their masks, they break down in front of the mirror,
just like you do. © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
