Different Day, Same PlaceA Poem by Laura HarrisonWhen I was a
young girl, I would
close my eyes when going for a ride out in my dad’s car And I would
imagine that I was someplace far away; In the
jungle, making friends with Tarzan and Jane Or playing
with the Lost Boys down in Neverland. I always
wanted to be an explorer.
But now, I have
never ventured outside of my own country My friends
come home from New York and Spain every half term Suitcases
laden with souvenirs and memories. I want to
jump on the next plane out of here But inside
my mind is a feeling of fear Because I am
already lost in my comfort zone What would
happen if I got lost so far away from home? © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
