How To Be Happy With Your ImageA Poem by Laura HarrisonStand in
front of the mirror when you have just woken up When your
hair looks like it has been dipped into a vat of chip fat And your
eyes aren’t clogged with thick mascara and eyeliner Stare at
your reflection; At your nose
that you always thought was too big for your face And the mole
on your left cheek that you once tried to scratch off with your fingernails Now stand
back a bit and pull up your shirt Look at your
stomach; At the fat
that you always joke about and say “I wish I could give it to charity” And at the
stretch marks that look like long ago scars When you
have taken a good, long look at yourself Open your
mouth and say “I am beautiful.” Repeat this
until you actually start to believe yourself © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
