Reminders Of A Lost LoveA Poem by Laura HarrisonIt’s almost
as if you are still here Because my
clothes still smell like you And your
favourite mug of mine still has your lipstick stains on it. Every time I
close my eyes, I see your face in my mind; Your soft
caramel coloured eyes, gazing lovingly into mine When I
turned the radio on in the car this morning, our song was playing And I
imagined you in the passenger seat, singing along with me I have lost
count of how many of your bobby pins I have stood on Or how many
of your hairs I have found in my bed I read a
love poem the other day But it
didn’t compare to the ones you wrote about me I can’t even
go to a coffee shop to get my morning fix because it was our favourite place to
go on a date And the
street that I have to drive past to get to work every day is named after you Tonight the
stars are twinkling bright in the dark blue sky, and I am reminded of that
night that we lay in my back garden and made constellations out of them... But most of
all, I am reminded of the day that I left you And I know
that I did you wrong but I want you to know that I’m sorry And I know
that you won’t ever take me back now but I want you to know that I still love you. © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
