My DarlingA Poem by Laura HarrisonA poem dedicated to my loving fiance.I can never
find the right words to tell you just how much I adore you But when I see
you, my stomach quakes with the amount of butterflies that are floating there And
everything wrong in my life suddenly seems right. I never
loved my eyes until I saw them reflected in yours And my body
used to make the mirror scream until you placed “I love you’s” everywhere on my
naked skin. Your hands
may be freezing, but your heart burns like a fire And mine
came alive when you blessed it with your love. Inside my
mind there is a slideshow of all the sunsets we have watched together And all of
the times you told me I was more beautiful than them. If there was
an award for the best listener, then you would win it hands down Because you
never interrupt me when I have something difficult to talk about. I always
thought the saying ‘you take my breath away’ was stupid But when our
lips collide, it feels like I am in Heaven. It’s true
that time flies when you’re having fun As it feels
like we only get 5 minutes together before you’re off home again. If I didn’t
have you in my life, I don’t know what I would do Daniel, I
know that I have said this a thousand times before but… I love you. © 2013 Laura Harrison |
