Thorns

Thorns

A Poem by Laura Harrison

So you got knocked down yet again

But you don’t have to endure this pain

Get up from the ground and stand up tall

Don’t let people make you feel small

People told you that you would never amount to anything

But I believe that you will be something

Don’t let anyone tell you’re not enough

Life is already too tough

When you get pricked by the thorns in a rosebush

Believe that not everything will crumble to dust

Perhaps every thorn has its rose

Maybe this isn’t the way the story is supposed to go

Take your life into your own hands

Be brave enough to make a stand

"When you get pricked by the thorns in a rosebush

Good wisdom in your words. We may bleed from the thorns of the rose. We must raise up stronger. I like the positive ending. Better to stand strong than run in defeat. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
