Taking Away The PainA Poem by Laura HarrisonThe drugs
you take make you smile But this
only lasts for a while You pour
another glass of whiskey to drown your sorrows But the pain
will still be there tomorrow You make
marks on your skin to get rid of your sins But are you really
pure after all this?
And then the
depression comes back and hits you hard Now you are
back to the start So you hurt
yourself again just to feel ok once more But you will
never back to the way you were before
You cry and
cry until there are no more tears left How did you
get yourself into this mess? You can’t
remember the last time you were truly content All you have
to live for is pain and torment
You have to
drag yourself away from this fixation Don’t waste
your life on self-mutilation Everyone is
addicted to something that takes away the pain But once the
effects have worn off, everything is the same © 2013 Laura HarrisonReviews
