Innocent of Dark

Innocent of Dark

A Poem by Little Whisper

Innocent of Dark

September 17, 2010 at 3:30am

Do they know as they graze

Emerald's sweet meadow

As innocent eyed calves suckle

Pearly filled teats

Do they know as their hooves

Kiss the ground one peck in staccato time

Are their wings burdened with

Memories of what was or

What is to become

Do flourishing roots in their prime

Whither with knowledge of impending doom?

I want to live oblivious

to loss.

I want to die oblivious

to life.

Thank you for your wise words. :)
It is beyond beautiful. It is insightful. It is human condition. To know is what we think we want yet it terrifies and interferes with our ability to live life fully present. Give me oblivion any old day! l am going to come up with an oblivion pill to make us forget past and future. It will make us rich, I tell ya...then we can go live on that secluded island and... Wait...i think they already make that ...i think its called heroin .Great Write my friend!
