Countries of the Earth

Countries of the Earth

A Poem by Laura

Our brothers and sisters
Of different color
Of different ancestry
Who lives overseas
In lands far away
Of different customs and behaviors
The ones we wonder about
And at times feel scared of
But the voice inside
Urges us to see our long-lost friends
Our friends waiting our reconciliation
And for our friendship to blossom
We are not enemies
Or a different species
We are human
So let us meet
And shake hands
And have a good time
And forgive eachother
For the past hurts and wars
There is no greater treasure
Than the love you have to give to me
My brother and Sister
Let us reconcile again
And Earth will yet again
Sing in jubilee
For we are all free
