It's Better Now

It's Better Now

A Poem by Laura3841

It's better now in this new town,

without whispers playing in my ears

Fumbling to avoid contact,

covering my stories as they sneer

It's better now in this new town,

where the smiles aren't always fake

Where they don't just ask about your day,

to later laugh at your mistakes

It's better now in this new town,

Where the players don't always lose

And I no longer have to wear make-up

to cover up a bruise

It's better now in this new town

though the skies may not all be blue,

The cloudiest of days are still brightest

because there is no you.

Thank you Woody! I appreciate your review. I also appreciate you calling me out on my typo! Goodness! That's what I get for responding by my cell phone. Those tiny buttons. Hopefully I did not offend Arsh! :)

no problem. the pleasure's mine.
simple, straightforward but tells a true and painful story. change can often bring a breath of fresh air. I'm glad things are looking better now :)

oh BTW, are you sure that's the name of the other reviewer? cute :)

Glad to read.
Last two phrases`re one of my favorites indeed. Well, I believe, either love looks like a blue-wide-sky or just a faded color of grey but it ain`t matter, what it looks like.. what the thing does matter is, how it makes our hearts feeling peaceful breathing around its shells; coldness; shine; pain; darkness; love and warmth. What a deep imagery you`ve come up with, Laura. I adore this write... even I admire your heart more that allowed your hand to dance with a pen on a page like this ... in disguise of such colorful words. Keep it up!
