Nine BoxesA Poem by Lucid SmileBeing trapped with no escape does things to you
The sun is trapped behind the dark curtin that falls over the wooden box with a lock on it. The box holds all my secrets All my mistakes All I regret All my fears All my lies Running foot steps in the attic. The pictures on the wall are sad, Memories hidden underneath fake smiles, Anger and frustration in their eyes. The piano keys have been worn, Beautiful aggression has filled these walls with love and hate combined. The shoe box hidden underneath the floorboards is full of hand written letters I never sent to you. There's a jewlery box on my dresser thats filled with never been worn jewlery i've collected from you over the years. The angry faces I see in these walls are screaming at me. Telling me what to do Telling me rude comments telling me to unlock the silver steel lock. Things always mysteriously end up in diferant places. The set of rusted keys are sitting in a leather box I can't reach in my closet. The paint is peeling off the walls leaving paint chips underneath my fingernails Blood rolls down my cheeks leaving tracks underneath my eyes. My voice is fading from screaming back at the voices in the wooden box. The black box underneth the bed holds a pair of red shoes I only wear when im happy has been collecting dust over the years. The cold chill that creeps slowly down my spine is here to stay. I can see my breath every once in a while. Blood drips from my arm and falls to the floor. Demons leaving scratches all over my body. One scratch for every mistake. The four boxes in the back yard are no longer breathing. I'm next to escape into my own box. © 2011 Lucid SmileAuthor's Note
