Burden

Burden

A Poem by Laur

It's not something you can take back,
not something to erase,
and watch the shavings fill the page
the page that is this sad place

the vivid memories don't seem to fade
with each passing day
my head hits the pillow
and in my dreams it will always stay

this is not what i want
this is nothing to be happy about
you see me here quiet
all my head does is shout

shout your name as you walk by in memory
hoping you will turn and forget it all
i think the real problem here is
you don't truly care if i fall

there to remind you
staying to keep you
in its clutches so tight
no matter how hard you try
its going to haunt you in the night

nothing left to hold onto
its taking you into its hell
escaping is nothing but an idea
secretly you gave up trying to repel
