I Close My Eyes

I Close My Eyes

A Poem by Laughter

I close my eyes as it unfolds again.
The past laying out before my eyes.
Laughter, heartbreak, losing it all again.
It feels worst then it was.

I close my eyes and pretend.
I'm off some place.
Were the trees dance.
And the sun is blue.

I close my eyes hoping.
I never have to see you.
The past dances in front of me.
But I try and hold back.

Warm air whispers around
As I drift away
To a faraway place.
A place were my past can't play.

I wont lie I miss those days.
But their filled with hate.
The ghost stands at a distance
Waiting to see if I come back.
I close my eyes and pretend
I'm in a far off place.
