DoubtsA Poem by Latoria SheppardEveryone has them and here are a few of mine...
Life is learning to never doubt yourself because when you're born everyone already doubts you.
And it's not nothing personal; but it's true. Life has shown up and voluntarily made me have doubts too. I doubt that black on black crime will end with self-hate but rather begins. I doubt that white people will look at our color and adversely admit we too can be a friend. I doubt that the word 'n***a' will stop being a common name among a race that refuses to be identified. And I doubt society will stop playing the game of classified information. I doubt our children will grow up with a proper education And stop the talk of being a gangster or this...no that dude I doubt the government will care enough to stop hustling our people and pimping our nation. I doubt that Christians will tell the truth and live as a testimony for our youth I doubt the road less traveled by will be the road people will take And I doubt my people will be free to Justice or Just Us for God's sake I doubt I can make a difference in one person's life if I'm unable to make it in my own And I doubt my doubts will be doubted in the public's eye The only thing I'm promised is the promise to die So I doubt my words will be heard over a sinner's cry!
