Genesis

A Poem by Latoria Sheppard
"

Everyone is so quick to look to Eve for the way of the world, but let's not cast blame. Let's all look to the Lord for forgiveness.

"

Dear Adam,

Satan only tell lies when there almost the truth and its amazing.

I can still see the apple stuck in your throat so Adam swallow your pride.

I'm going through the pain too yet I'm still by your side.

We're both male (mail) I'm just reincarnated

and we're both enveloped in guilt cause we're now stamped a sinner.

I would comfort you but I'm only almost delivered.

See I was tricked and you were treated

yet Halloween was never defeated.

And we left the world hopeless

but God came and gave his son (sun) with a spark of bright

so our grass can still grow during the rainstorms of light.

We fell that's true

but when God died it was for me and you.

So forgive me of my transgressions, my aggression

during this recession and and I'll forgive you of yours.

My flesh is broken and my heart is cold

but with Jesus on my side I'm told,

you are never alone.

And never alone I feel even when the tears are flowing

and my fear creates doubt.

I am the first and last woman on earth you hear me shout.

I am woman for man and man for Christ

take me as I am for I am death at its price.

Eve
