Morsels

Morsels

A Poem by Lathen Griffiths

I asked a sparrow,
“what are you pecking for?”
she said,
“morsels.”
I asked a beggar,
“what are you begging for?”
he said,
“morsels.”
I asked the Devil,
“what are you here for?”
he said,
“more-souls!”
