ODE TO A PAPER CLIPA Poem by Lathen Griffiths
Oh paper clip your curly bends
have saved me trouble to no ends. You teensy-Weensy ace device, you looped shaped beauty paper splice. When I’m in need of a paper grip, Your handier than a bulldog clip. Better than a pin or clamp, in stationary you are the champ. Never brash, loud or snobby, in helping hobbyists with their hobby. With unassuming popularity, you’ve earned yourself an emoji. If I was thrown into the dock, I’d unbend your wire and pick the lock, shaping you into a key, to escape my shackles and go scot free, then I’d go on to sing your praise, A glass to you, high I would raise. Never one who’s cool or hip, you little gem you, paper clip. ©️ 2021 Lathen Griffiths © 2023 Lathen GriffithsReviews
