A Promise

A Promise

A Poem by J.K.P.
"

This is a true story about me, and a boy. He is probably my soulmate.

"

Two hands interlock,

folded into a familiar union.

Three words

are wrapped around her finger,

sealed in silver,

A long ago promise

that will never be broken.

I like the folded/wrapped in the first two- why not give the promise a verb too? And for the structure of the poem itself, why not try a three words/two hands/one promise (3-2-1 type deal) to give it a little more flare?

The first two stanzas are great, but the third kind of throws off the form.. Give it a few rewrites and I think it could create an even more beautiful image in our minds :)
