Romance and Friendship

These two short prompts are in the same category so I figured I'd type them up and possibly tweak a few things.

Unrequited Love

Love is supposed to be a two way street. When love is no longer it becomes a dead end. The road is narrow. It becomes impossible to turn around. And no matter how many times you try to reverse them and hold on to hope, it never comes. Every angle becomes obstructed. And no matter what you do. No matter how many people come into your life that you love or strangers who have become friends, leaving that one person behind is still difficult. Your actions are justified, however that one person will never agree. You have got to move on. Because if you don't; it will continue to be nothing but a painful and inescapable dead end.

Friendship Limbo

When friendship becomes a mutual, stagnant  lie, What can even be done? Do we accept it and allow a pointless routine even if it means going through the motions? Do we strive to understand what went wrong as if it were entirely our fault in some way? Or maybe we hold all questions and assume that the "take what we can and get" position? Change is frightening. When someone has been around for so long, how can we just throw them away? Even if in the long run we benefit from it. Even if their presence is toxic for us. Even after they have used you, lied to you, and secretly no longer truly cares. All made worse when a glimmer of the friend you once had surfaces just enough to give you hope. What can we do when the "familiar" becomes painful?
