An Unforeseen GuestA Chapter by One Lost Anti-HeroI tried my best to get some real development between the characters, but I still want any opinions that either you didn't like or think could improve it.Sano rolled around on the bed trying to absorb the blankets warmth when a certain smell kicked her off the bed. She rubbed her forehead and took in a deep breath. Her mind went blank as her stomach took over her mind from the aroma. “You up mom? I made eagle stew and grilled pig if you wanted any.” Sano was drooling as the smell began to sink deeper into her conscious. “I'm a little hungry so I think I'll have some.” Sano stomach roared and it echoed throughout the house. Urihi poked his head into the bedroom after hearing the loud sound. He smiled and covered his mouth with his hand trying not to laugh. “A little huh?” Sano's face lit up like a symphony of Christmas lights on a cold evening. Sano tried to stand up, but her legs gave out. She held her stomach breathing heavily trying to hold in the pain. “Mom you alright?!” Urihi ran to his mother's side trying to calm her down. “I'm just a little weak from giving that portal my energy. Don't be so dramatic Urihi.” He grabbed her arm and helped her up. “You don't have to help me I'll be fine in a bit so just let me...” “No! You're gonna eat my dinner whether you want to or not, so get your butt in that chair and eat.” Sano smiled as she sat down at the table. She relaxed herself as Urihi went to get her portions from the pots and set it. “Ever notice how big this kitchen is compared to the rest of the house?” She asked. “First off we live in a cottage and every time we eat.” Urihi went to go get a book to put under his rickety chair and sat down. “House, cottage, shell its all the same.” Urihi couldn't help but feel happy at her comparisons even if some of them were a bit strange. Just the other day she tried to convince him that fish taste better with cake on it. “Your analogies just get better and better don't they.” Sano smiled before looking at the eagle stew was a glimmering brown with a texture that was touched by the heavens. She took a bite of the stew and the tender meat and vegetables meshed so perfectly together that she let a cloud of steam leave her mouth as she was breathless. “Try the pig. It was hard to get tender, but I think it was worth it when I put it on the fire.” She bit the pig meat and joy baked its way into her legs. She was shaking the pure taste of its magnificence, but before she could even chew the meat broke apart in her mouth making the taste drench her lips. “So good or bad.” Sano broke from her illusions and regained composure. “Its acceptable. I mean for such a meal I can...” Urihi grabbed Sano's plates. “I see guess I'll just take this plate from you and...” Urihi kept one eye open to see her response. Sano was bawling like a toddler who just got his toy taken by a bully. “No, I was just fooling. Give it back.” Sano reached for the plates, but he held the out of reach. “Please?” “Here you go.” Urihi gave her back the plates and felt warm. It was something only Sano could do for him and yet it was everything to him. She begun to devour the meal as Urihi took his spoon out so he could start eating. Suddenly a loud knock came from the door and Urihi smile went away when he stood up. “Don't eat off my plate alright? There is more in the pan and in the stove so just eat that. If anything happens I want you to run out the window alright.” “Its just a guest, I'm more scared for what I'll do them if they mess with you.” Urihi laughed and went to answer the door.. “Since when do we get guests?” He went to the doorway stopping a foot behind the door. “Who are you and what do you want?” “You know who am I am you idiot.” It was a familiar somewhat aggressive female voice. “If your looking to rob us you would probably have better luck in the nearby town than here. There's nothing to take that is of value.” Urihi took five steps back and covered his ears. “Plus I'm pretty sure I hate you.” The door slammed open and standing there was a girl with a sledge hammer. She wore that white hoodie and that strange fancy dress under it. If it wasn’t for the fact that she was holding a weapon Urihi probably would've tried to kick her out. “How dare you?!” The hammer transformed into a butterfly knife charging forward and holding it against his neck. “One of these days I am going to...” The aroma that captivated Sano captivated girl's mind. Her body was falling under its spell making drop the knife and it disappeared. The girl was walking into the kitchen in a trance, now standing above the pot and stove she gave her body to the fragrance. “What is this?” “Ish shomfin Ushi makshe.” The pig juices soaked her blouse with each bite. Sano was tearing the meat right down to the bone and threw them out the window. “Eash wif me!” “You should probably swallow your food.” Sano tried to talk but then held her neck. “Never mind swallowing you should at least chew it first!” Urihi ran behind her and started patting her back. He grabbed the spoon and gently fed the soup to her. “Just relax and let it melt the meat down your throat.” *Cough* The meat slid down her her throat and Sano was gasping for air. Urihi continued to pat her back to make her relax. “Thank you.” Sano's voice was now raspy like one of those fake ghost in every movie. When Sano calmed down she turned her attention to the intruder. “So why don't you sit down and join us for dinner. “Yeah why don't you...” Urihi had a sour look as he slowly stared at his mother. “What?! Your letting this violent, ugly excuse for a girl eat with us!” He slammed the table with all his might. “You know I'm standing right here.” He put his hand over her face. “This isn't about you! I'm talking to my mother right now. So explain why your letting this girl, if you can even call her that, eat with us.” His mother looked at him and the girl confused as if the answer was suppose to obvious. She drank the last of her soup and let out a deep breath. “Well aren't you suppose to be nice to guests?” She just smiled like an idiot who just found world peace. “And come on Urihi, its not like shes done anything to you.” “Hah! You know she was the one who was beating me up right?!” Urihi pointed at her. “Yep.” Sano mimicked his motions making it look like he was the puppet. “And nearly killed your only son right?!” Then he pointed at himself. “Yep.” “Then why is she going to eat with her?!” Urihi's face lit up bright red with fury pouring out of his eye sockets. “Its not like shes done anything to you recently, right?” Sano swayed her body around like a bowl of jelly as she poked his chest with her elbow. “That was literally four hours ago.” He grit his teeth. “Eh, minors details.” His stress could be felt from a couple miles away as he gave the girl her portion and left. “Where are you going? “Not hungry, going to bed.” Sano waved to her son and put away her bowl.” The girl sat down and took a sip of the soup. “Ms. Sano this is...” “Shut it Amity. What do you want?” Sano's carefree nature disappeared faster than a banana could split. “If your here to take him to that wretched school than the answer is still the same. Eat your food and get out before I do something I regret.” Sano was a completely different person. Unable to hear Amity's words and sat there just staring at her. “But I can help you and him. I'm sure my father can...” Amity looked into Sano's eyes and the air around her drowned her voice. Vicious snakes, scorpions, and spiders began to crawl all over her body. Their fear of Sano took over her instinct forcing her follow Sano's orders without question. When she resisted they crawled into her mouth choking the words away from her. Dread ate into her soul burying it deep into the earth so that her will would be far gone. “Good bye.” *Slam* Amity's illusion broke and she was left standing alone in front of their home. Amity fell to her knees feeling very ill and exhausted from what she just experienced. The pain wasn't a sharp, but more like a strenuous slow burning one. Even her mind was starting to falter to it; however she stood up regardless and started walking. “Yo you awake.” Sano entered the pitch black room and sat on her bed. No response came from the room. “Oh that food was so good if only you got to eat any of it. ” Still no response. “There some left inside the oven, so don't be afraid to get some if your hungry. I love you Urihi.” She kissed her motionless son and jumped into her bed. She covered her body with the blanket and closed her eyes. A small sound came from the kitchen and she smiled graciously. “Such a good boy.”
