sensing humor

sensing humor

A Poem by Last Minute Lani

it's funny how one could think

that not eating would make them

feel ...less.

it's funny too how fake nails embody sophistication

yet they are closely embracing frustration

it's funny how this humor is more or less ironic

rather than tummy tickling enjoyment

just as a hit to my elbow would be

more painful than hilarity at its finest

it's funny when other people fall

but if we fall, sympathy is to be expected

so then shall i fall and hit my elbow

while wearing largely useless fake nails

and attempting to drive out ilness with starvation

and expect that self sufficient desiring of sympathy?

it's funny how that could all happen to one person.

as long as its not me.

Brilliant! I can see this being a conversation with yourself on the road just driving yourself to work, but when you wrote it all down before you forgot any details, you mastered it. This is a great read. Thanks!
