Life

A Poem by C.R. Moore "Lasla"

           Grow twist turn

Pushing upward

Rising to the sun

Reaching for the stars above

Rise up ye rosebuds

Clasp the moment in your grasp

Open your soul to the sun

Receive its glowing love abound

And let it grow until its

Roots can grow no more

The Earth calls us near

If she calls and we do not answer,

We shall surely fall and return to dust

If we do not answer this day

To the voice that echoes in our mind

From somewhere in the reaches

Beyond our mortal knowledge

We shall be carried away

Without knowing devoted love

Rare and true

What a pity to be carried away

Without love ever being known

We shall turn to dust

Return to grow again

True and cold with no more to know

Do not let these days pass

Without knowing love of the heart.

nicely written, Lasla...the comparisons and imagery were really good. to live without knowing love in any form is a waste of time...but that is my opinion. i can't imagine a life without love.

thanks for sharing :)

The metaphor is simply genius and the progression is truly artistic,
I like the vantage-point you provided for the reader and also the way the poem moved.
Everything felt real and the imagery was great.
Bravo, excellent write!
