EscapeA Poem by LareBearRetreat from civilizationLet
us retreat from the rush of the city together. We'll
pack up our bags and then sneak out of town this evening. Over
the speakers will come a report of the weather And
I'll turn to you and you'll turn to me and we'll both start to sing: Let's
escape into eternity. Forever
child, forever wild, Will
we drive into eternity. We'll
find us a cabin out far from the bustle of daily life. I'll
build us a fence while you cook up some stew tonight. I'll
carve out a figure just using my hands and knife; You'll
laugh at my silliness in front of the warm firelight. Out
in the woods come the sounds of a natural serenity. We'll
open a bottle and toast to our plans to hide 'til June. No
one will tell and no one will know of our change of identity, And
I'll turn to you and you'll turn to me and we'll both hear this tune: Let's
escape into eternity Forever
child, forever wild, Will
we live into eternity. Copyright
