Happy Endings

Happy Endings

A Poem by Whiskurz

I walk through gardens of happy endings
But none were mine to choose
I've tried to pick one once or twice
But they always seem to refuse

I've seen my share of fairytales
But they always come to an end
They always seem to break my heart
For fairytales are only pretend

I've even wished upon a star
But wishes don't come true
I've cast my pennies down a well
But that was a failure too

I've even proposed a time or two
But it wasn't meant to be
For marriage was a happy ending
And it wasn't my destiny

I walk through gardens of happy endings
But none were mine to keep
I've tried my best to pull one out
But they're buried way too deep
