Forever Has an End

Forever Has an End

A Poem by Whiskurz

The sound gets lost in the emptiness
Where our heartbeats used to be
In the place where we hid our secrets
With two part harmony
Those words don't seem to come anymore
Unless we both pretend
And it's sad to think that even forever
Will always have an end
Tomorrow just seems so far away
When you live in yesterday
I keep looking back where we used to be
Instead of living for today
And I don't know how long it takes
For a memory to die
For it doesn't mean that you're not here
Just because you said goodbye
You said you'll always love me
But I don't need another friend
It's just sad to think that forever
Will someday have to end

This is my second attempt to review you. Hope this one makes it! Besides being an excellently written poem, this exudes life experience. To me it says this poet has lived this experience and therefor can express it eloquently. Whiskurz, I need to know if you are one of those poets who want complimentary reviews only or if you wish to also have completely honest reviews. I don't review often or lightly. The poems I review must truly have poetic qualities about them and a certain respect for the craft. If these qualities are lacking in the first few poems I review or if the poet can't accept an honest well intended review, than I'll likely never review that poet again. I like to make suggestions that might make a poem better and also will point mistakes in grammar and will encourage constructive discussion about poems (my own included). This poem is an excellent write and I have nothing but good things to say about it, but I will be nothing but truthful when truth is deserved and will never write a good review just because someone review one of mine favorably, as I think that is just kissing up for hits. To me once the poems are posted they're on their on and are not an obligation. This reply is going on way too long Whiskurz, I just wanted to give you a well deserved pat on the back and at the same time let you know my reviewing standards.

Wow, sad, remorseful, powerful. I really liked this. I think my favorite line is "And I don't know how long it takes/for a memory to die" That just speaks of being haunted by ghosts of the past. I also love the title, it blankets the poem really well.
