When Shadows Speak

When Shadows Speak

A Poem by Whiskurz

Have you ever heard a shadow speak?
Their voice is silent and broken
But if you'll listen close enough
You can hear every word that's spoken
For every shadow has a voice
But they're usually hidden away
For shadows learn to communicate
In an entirely different way
You'll never see a shadow smile
But you'll often see them cry
But if you hear a shadow speak
Don't ever ask them why
Shadows don't believe in trust
That's just the way they're made
The reason why they're made this way
Is from all the dues they've paid
I'm the shadow I'm talking about
Not the other kind
I'm just a shadow of my former self
The shadow you left behind

i think, with the rhyme sounding just a bit forced and just a bit sing-songy, you lost the solemnity this poem should present.
