Love's Graveyard

Love's Graveyard

A Poem by Whiskurz

I wonder if there's a graveyard
For the love that didn't last
A place to bury our hopes and dreams
A tomb of forgotten past
A place where broken promises lay
After they become a lie
A place to bury relationships
After they give up and die
A place we can bury tomorrows
To put the future in its grave
A place to bury our wasted kisses
And all the trust we gave
A place to bury our commitment
That we gave away in vain
A place to bury our heartaches
That caused us so much pain
A place we can bury betrayal
That we too often denied
A place to bury the broken smiles
And the river of tears we've cried
A place to bury all these things
That I've been speaking of
A place to bury our dead desires
A graveyard of broken love

Great writing!

Indeed. Great write. I often wonder the same thing. Like the way you've used the imagery of the graveyard here. Clever. Get that heartache out and deep underground.:)
But I guess we wouldn;'t be who we are today without these experiences.
Thanks for sharing.

Yes, and I am the keeper of these grounds. Excellent write, this is my favorite that you have done so far. The emotion behind it is excellent, and it is an overall amazing poem.

Oh God, I loved every word of it.

The topic of the poem and how well it speaks is magnificent. It's very creative and simply wonderful.

Thanks again my friend......Whisk
The idea is great.
Having a special graveyard with places for different cases of love related misfortunes must be appreciated by the sufferers.
It is really a comforting feeling for me that a place of misfortunes might be established someday.
Very well penned.

An excellent piece of writing that is fitting of the really positive feedback you have received before this review.

Wonderful sentiment and constructed with real beauty.

I loved the lines "a place we can bury betrayal, that we too often denied." I find more real truth and wisdom in those words than the rest. The denying of betrayal is a horrible and very true fact of love and relationship.

Brilliant

This brought to me every conceivable emotion attached to the words, there was something so hollow and mournful that reawakened in me relating as one would feel in an actual graveyard. I felt I knew those buried there as you guided the reader through the headstones. This has to be one of my favourite poems I've come across on the site. Splendid!
