A love story unfolds

A love story unfolds

A Poem by Lanky
"

its a little long but each word in every line is true.

"

I saw you there

in that office waiting on a friend

both of us glancing down

too nervous to say hello

would you have guessed then

that you would come to love me?

I saw your eyes

as they filled with shock

When i walked into that classroom

I heard the joy in your voice

as we talked the entire class

And so the seeds of our relationship

were planted in fertile soil

Our friendship was short

and our caring emense

I took every chance i had

to be close to you

I once lifted you up

to sit you on that box

just for one little excuse

to have you in my arms

Then a few days later

I told you that i liked you

and you replied the same

I can still feel my heart lift

as it did that fateful day

the next day we talked for hours

until your phone, it did shut off

The day after

When i saw you once more

I held you in my arms

under no false pretenses

I held you for the comfort

and you held me too

so the rest of the day

I walked you to your classes

each and every bell

til fourty five minutes

after two in the afternoon

when i walked you to that truck

a rusty blue ford

that fit your personality so well

Thats when i looked at you

and smiled as i asked you out

You said yes

and my heart, it did sore.

Your eyes looked towards the ground

but i needed just a little more

so i lifted your chin

and kissed you gently

electricity between our lips

a kiss of perfection

a premonition of what was to come

a kiss that i now know

was the a kiss of our true love

It was like a fairy tale

pure and simple as it should be

the kiss lingers

our emotions sore

and so a fire

of a newly discovered passion

erupted in my core.

A few weeks pass

with more of those kisses and

in your warm chocolate eyes

i see hope caring and love.

Oh how I tried to say it

time and time again.

I loved you since that first kiss

but still i couldnt speak the words

I tried once in harpers ferry

on the steps of that old church

but all i did was ramble

because the words just wouldnt come

Eventually though

I coaxed those words

straight from your perfect lips

"So what is it?" I ask

"Um... I love you?" a question

"I love you" my wispered reply

the room filled with kisses

and the sound of a thousand "I love you's"

Now i sit here eighteen months later

And I see that i love you

much more than i ever though

was humanly possible

Tears start to fill my eyes

as I think back on such perfect moments

but the absolute best part is

that there are so many more to come

Well, didn't this take me right back to high school romance, and first love.
I have to thank you, for not only did your words take me for a ride through
nostalgia, I honest to goodness felt the flutter of a few butterfly wings in
the tum tum. Oh, to have my days back again, haha.

There is nothing more beautiful than young love, nothing.
Lovely piece.

this is the first poem I read from your profile...and I think it's pretty good. Very long yet kept me intrigued enough to read it all :)

That was so romantic but in the end... Was that sadness i saw? It came from really deep inside you.
