Gone

Gone

A Poem by Lani Lou
"

A friendship that left me torn apart

"
I'm gone.
My life has changed
And our equation no longer makes sense.
My day is filled with love and laughter,
While yours is filled with tears and stress.
I hate how our worlds have changed,
Unfortunately mine has changed for the better.
I'm gone from this life we used to call normal.
I have new eyes,
A new curiosity,
And a new hunger to find where the world can take me.
You're gone.
Gone from the happiness that used to exist,
From the sunshine that used to be so satisfying,
Gone from the world we used to know.
Your tears match the beating of the rain on my window.
For you the rain drowns you in your sorrow,
While within the fresh sweet dew I find life.
The sad song that reverberates from your heart to mine,
Grips at the joy I've spent so long searching for.
And that is why I left.
The harsh negative vibes crushed my spirit,
And left me hanging on your every word.
The remnants of light in my eyes was the only reason you hung around.
I'm gone,
I left,
I'm happy.
And now your reign of sorrowful torment threatens to snatch me up again.
I'm new,
And without the infinite tears,
I will survive.
But will you?
That, my dear,
Is why I needed to leave.

The truthfulness lays out in this verse...
the expression goes from line to line...
never lets up from the beginning...
acknowledging everything and anything...
and yet the ending holds hope...
and asks the question for a stand point...
and goes about its own way...

I'm in love with this poem. More-so because it is so extremely raw and real. It's something I can relate to at this very moment. Thank you for sharing :)
