Let's be CarefreeA Poem by Lani Lou
Up in the trees and enjoying the breeze,
with the sun on our faces we love and laugh while we live carefree. Winter begins to fade away, and the sun dances along the horizon. We try not to remember the pain of what used to be, trying to remain carefree. As children of mother earth we run and play as the lovebird's song echos in our hearts with painted smiles we reach a temporary bliss. Away from the city, Away from responsibilities, Away from the black hole we know as "the norm." Trying to remember those far away days: life was pure joy, a simple smile meant the world, a kiss was taboo, and the roses waited for us to come and prick our senses in order to enjoy the beauty of our inevitable future. Now life is a roller coaster that rarely goes up, A smile hides the pain inside, a kiss can ruin our hearts forever, and the roses, we pass them by out of blinding frustration; Frustration at the world for making us conform, for making us fit into a mold whose burden is to harsh to bear, for stomping on our dreams to make us forget what it was like to be truly free. Free of regret, free of heart-wrenching sadness, free of negative lips in our all too curious ears, free from the cookie cutter of what is, free to BE. All I want is to be care free. The wind rushes though our hair. We stand breathless at our destination wishing for a better tomorrow as the sun lingers just to bid us adieu. We create to burn that cookie cutter of what is so we can find what can be! We are what we want to be, We love and we laugh in the trees so that life can help us be more carefree. With the stars as our guides, we will accomplish the need to be free and unconform from the the norm! This is our life! A life that is molded by our free will, and only time will tell if we reach our goal. So live every moment to the fullest, Laugh everyday, Love beyond words, And we can once again be carefree!
