Noise.

Noise.

A Poem by L
"

I hope you can hear me.

"

I sat by the window today

Wondering if you could hear me -

They said you’re gone forever, to a better place, but I don’t believe them.

I said your name once, twice, louder,

Louder now:

The wind turned my voice into the ugly bud of a rose -

Blue, unnatural, wilted.

Your name now, once again,

I said it over again until it’s nothing but sounds;

A soothing, tiresome, frustrating three-syllabled noise.

It got lost in the drilling of concrete and the ruckus of children’s laughter.

Have I told you recently that I miss you?
