A SOULFUL SONG

A SOULFUL SONG

A Poem by Landy
"

This poem is dedicated to those with whom we share a unique connection—a silent melody that echoes through time.

"
There’s a deep familiarity I see in your eyes,
like the sky stretching endlessly above us.
In you, I recognize myself when we hold hands,
a silent echo of something long known.

"I don’t know what the world expects me to be"

only that I have a chance to witness its wonders.
I know so little, and all seems unsure still,
but that familiarity in your eyes gives me hope--
hope that, as we go, all will be well.

"I dreamt of our beginning"

a journey of understanding along this road.
I wish I could share with you
the lives I’ve traveled through just to find you.
But time pulls us on a leash,
always urging us forward.

"Still, joy fills me now that I am close to you"

It makes me sing a thankful prayer,
for we are finally together.

"Sometimes, I sit beneath the trees"

watching the wind carry our memories away.
I let myself drift beyond thinking"
what if each night, we disappear?
What if, by sunrise, we return
for what is most dear?

"You are the link that keeps me here"

"as it has been since my soul was born"

"There’s a deep familiarity I see in your eyes"

a strange sentiment I can’t quite name.
It feels foreign, yet I have always known it.
It’s safe to say I am intrigued
by the peace you bring to my soul.

"Our future is yet to unfold"

but I am certain we will become
the best versions of ourselves in this lifetime.
Our moments will be carved in time,
scripted in all literatures of past and present.

"I see a wave of visions--

of me and you, side by side.
And in them, I find hope,
hope that all will be well in the end".
