The Tree

The Tree

A Poem by Landy
"

A poem of reflection

"
      The tree

I walk by the garden I once cherished,
With body intact but thoughts so broken.
I walk by through our little heaven,
With no emotion I once held.

As I notice the faded flowers,
I laugh and mock my own distraction.
Distress follows my little desperation;
I cry and curse the gods that took you.

You, whom I once knew and adored,
Like the earth adores the sun,
Like the sea adores the sky,
You, who once was my sense of living.

I sit under the tree we once slept beneath,
Singing songs from far away,
With melodies only we created.

I sit under the tree where grass is a bed of wisdom,
Trying to put my thoughts back in place,
Trying to find the peace I lost since you departed.

You, whom I once knew and adored,
Like the trees adore the breeze,
Like the ground adores the rain,
You, who once was my sense of living.

I keep your memory in mind like a prayer,
Hoping your spirit forever lives,
Through the eternity we dreamed to conceive,
You, whom I once adored.

Very powerful poem, colored in intense emotions and feelings of the past memories. A classic writing friend 😊
