Strokes in the corner

Strokes in the corner

A Story by Lamis

I’m back on my own inner streets, wandering in my darkest of alleys.

How can you get lost in your own past? I wondered.

How can you not recognize the streets you drew though your paintbrush strokes still linger in every corner? How do I not know the creatures I made up? The creatures that have been there before I drew my memory line…

This isn’t the first time I’ve re-built my streets and mansions but it seems that every once in a while I erase everything and re-paint it again and somehow into the same familiar form that once was.

I wonder if “Why?” is the right question to be asked at this point…

And I think I know the answer to that: I must keep building even if I’ll build the same thing every time I just know it’ll always have a different color
