Shadow SecretA Poem by LalliThis poem speaks about how if our shadows could speak... what truths about ourselves would they be able to reveal. Or have we been a person of honesty integrity and it's already been done.Like a child mimicking my every step It walks with me Never am I alone Privately investigating it stalks my every move Documenting details I fear blackmails inevitability
A silent witness This shadow stands aside acts unseen by blinking eyes My secrets guardian This silenced voice bares testimony to veiled character The notoriety of truth Enveloped upon cursive letters folded with a waxy seal
If it were capable of speech Its accountability would rewrite the pages of history
When I’m in need of a moral compass My outlined figurine A needled silhouette points in a direction opposite my guiding light
This third party view knows me better than I know myself Suspiciously trustworthy I delicately walk around its ability to crush my life But like an unsworn oath I have faith in a conversation we never spoke So I walk unscathed Chest out Shoulders back I walk brave © 2012 LalliAuthor's Note
