I RetireA Poem by LalliWill we ever know the truth?...
I Retire
I've retired to the truth that I may never know exactly what the truth is
Especially when the truth is immersed amongst lies
Dispersed amongst perception
I've come to understand that we are a species dominated by fear
Not the fear of inadequacy
But we fear the powerful light within us
It’s a fear in our abilities to stand against the corrupt
Unaware that we are more than powerful enough to help a stranger
I’ve heard that one good turn deserves another
And I think that one good turn can start the birth to stop the pain we cause each other
I’ve learned to tame the rain that seems so bad
The grey cloud that wanes our faith
I’ve noticed the difference between saving face, and facing reality
A difference between spinning the truth, and hiding it completely
Although their appearance have a remarkable resemblance
It doesn't stop this ambulatory need to decrease the flow of this mendacity bleed
A sense of urgency to unearth the logical truth
To prove the facts that change belief
The facts that alter reality twisting manipulation into revelation
A revolution
The dissolution to a fear that imprisons our intuition to conceive the truth
A fear that has become the elusive broken tulip persuasively coercing
A coax distraction of beauty disguising the insidious enemy equipped with lies
And although I have retired to the truth that I may never know exactly what the truth is
It doesn’t mean that I’m going to stop searching for it
Because I believe in the power of knowledge
I discern that wisdom demands respect
But the only way to obtain that wisdom is through experience
Pledging allegiance to conquest through a mess of haystacks to find the needle of truth
So until the empirical proof is found
Fear is going to have to sit in the back seat
I will have to swallow the lump in my throat
Open my mind
As I approach closer and closer to truths meaning
I can not be afraid of what I might find
Since I know that the truth will eventually be revealed
I am confident it will
But not a second
Not a moment before the correct time
What good would it do to know the truth?
Unless it was unveiled during the exact moment in which its impact
Would be at its greatest
Therefore,
I have retired to the truth that I may never know exactly what the truth is,
Because that moment
May not be mine!
