Momentous Occasion

The moment I realized, my desire and need to write... This is my driving force (Thanx Rambling Prose for the inspiration to write this based upon our discussion)

Momentous Occasion

By: Lalli

It struck with more electric energy than lightening!

I could feel as it rushed quickly through my veins

As if cleansing every cell and pore in my body

Pulsating

In shockwaves as a battering ram

Until the barricades

Crumbled away opening channeled doorways to my brain

Then a sharp pain cracked!

Like a whip

As if it’s shredded tip snapped tearing off skin from my forehead

Immediately mistaken as a migraine

But upon further examination

It felt more like a sore tendon

A tight muscle

Once abused now being stretched and overly used

Followed by the intense eyeball throbbing of pin point pupil confusion

Straining…To see

From dilating instantaneously to visually take in bright light

Since I was once surrounded by a darkness blacker than the blackest black hole

In a mental state

Stripped away to the lowest of low’s

This was an overwhelming moment of divine intervention

It was the only way

That God could grab my attention

As he pried opened my third eye

To my mind

Now free to see more of the world

Instead of interpreting through 2 eyes with the third one blind

Clarity, the purest form of clarity then ensued

It was a momentous occasion

An epiphany of my passion and natural talent to write

Not induced by mind enhancing drugs

Ironically

God spoke to me on Christmas day

While pursuing a get-a-way of relaxation

Soaking naked

In the bathtub

I won't remind you how I like and appriciate your spoken word style writing, accompanied by an off rhythmic flow that pulsates a slow then fast beat that fluxuates throughout the piece. So I'll just get to it.

I like the idea that you toy with: that an idea, inspiration, life-changing experience/idea, moment of clarity, can happen at anytime, anywhere (given with your playful last lines). I also like some of the sound play throughout this piece, which I can only imagine makes this piece a hell of a lot of fun to read.

There's only one thing that I have to say about this piece in the nay, if you will. An epiphany is a realization, so saying an "epiphany realization" is a bit redundant.

I dig it. Snaps fingers.

Beautiful..
I can't help but admit that the end made me giggle.
But I do truely enjoy this poem.
Such powerful things happen at the most unexpected moments.
It's important to be able to realize when those things are happening.
And you did.
And you wrote it in a way we were able to share in it with you.
I lovely walk into your person indeed.

It's always nice to read or hear the story behind one's journey through writing and how it all began. This is a poignant tale of such a beginning. A well written piece, thank you for sharing your beginnings.
