Natural Beauty, Natural Fury
by Lalli
Quickly comforted by a painted picture
Acres upon acres
An endless green sea has captivated me
Fields of green
Naturally grown in rows
Sway with the waves of the wind
Gently brushed
The tops slightly bend
Caressing each blade the wind makes the grass sway
Just think,
Gods Natural Beauty
As Inspiration flows freely
Ohhh…
Sweet Serenity
Only to be distracted by tornado destruction
Driving through a city that I saw on TV
But the devastation does not compare to the images
I saw flashing across the screen
The reality hit hard of the people’s homes caught in between
It was Gods Natural Fury
That destroyed this town
Scattering debris from roof tops torn to shambles
Brick buildings turned to rubble
And trees
Stripped of their leaves
How quickly it changed
The contrast
Can not be explained
So I try to erase it
I try to replace it
Remembering the peacefulness
Generated by the fields of green
With thoughts of sweet serenity
