Shadowland

Shadowland

A Poem by Beth Elaina
"

Memories so vivid, they overwhelm the senses...I become blind to the present, and get lost in the past...

"

Shadowy faces dance in my mind
Shadowy places that I’ve left behind
I reach out to touch them
They melt in my hand
But I still can’t let go
Of my precious shadowland

My shadowland
My haven-home
A world full of people
That I walk in alone

Real voices…
They fade away…
And I hear only what the shadows say

Shadowy sounds dance in my ears
Shadows abound, quieting my fears
I reach out to touch them
They melt in my hand
But I still can’t forget
My beautiful shadowland

It feels unfinished, somehow, but I don't really know how to end it...
