ShadowlandA Poem by Beth ElainaMemories so vivid, they overwhelm the senses...I become blind to the present, and get lost in the past...
Shadowy faces dance in my mind
Shadowy places that I’ve left behind
I reach out to touch them
They melt in my hand
But I still can’t let go
Of my precious shadowland
My shadowland
My haven-home
A world full of people
That I walk in alone
Real voices…
They fade away…
And I hear only what the shadows say
Shadowy sounds dance in my ears
Shadows abound, quieting my fears
I reach out to touch them
They melt in my hand
But I still can’t forget
My beautiful shadowland
