A Joyful RequiemA Poem by Kealland
The stars must have had dust to shed
To blanket the world in such a cloak of white; A cloak that glistened upon my head As, in the forest, we stood that night. The cold hung over the coated ground As you told me of our love lost, And how emotion misplaced can never be found Or regained at any cost. You left me alone to think on what you said When suddenly I realized this was no surprise. Too long had our affections been dead, This was truly a blessing in disguise. I stayed In Winter's cold embrace For a little while more, A smile brightening my face, Shackles breaking, free to soar. © 2012 Kealland |
