This is Forgetting You

This is Forgetting You

A Poem by Logan Reed

I look out these devil's eyes
I see you, the one I do despise
What am I to say? I was part of all the lies
What is there to do?
What is there to do?
The start is slowing forgetting you
the end is leaving you.
Forgetting all that once was
Forgetting all that now is
You are one whom once I did hate
Not to one that I could relate
Living from lie to the next lie
There was no use to try
To believe your words is a hard thing to do
to look into those eyes to see the real you
One is to wishing it could stay the same
Two is accepting and beginning to forget your name
Three is forgetting all that we had
Four is losing all and growing glad
Five is starting over again
Six is finding a new sin
Throw everything away
There is nothing but another day
Another day without you
This one thing is true.
Now as I sit and watch you drown
A smile creeping on upon your frown
as i see you sink all the way down
The point of reason was building up to the fall
this was not fate, but your own call
Now I watch you drown in yourself
as you realize you have no one else
Just empty smiles
that will be the same all the while
Meaningless sex to get you by
No reason to even try
You should really know
by know its all a lie, its time to go
only there for the meaningless time
as everything around you falls to your crime
I laugh silently as you drown.
