Kings and Queens

Kings and Queens

A Poem by Nocturnal Sunrise
"

A poem from "Nocturnal Sunrise" revealing what ever our social status we are all weak and imprisioned by greed and lust!

"

Kings and Queens

Mysterious old fashioned ways

Classic golden crowns

Merriment and frivolity

Jesters and their clowns

Kings and queens revered

Suitors and their maids

Battle scars rites of passage

Majestic courtly days

Behind the shimmering

Golden jewels often lay deceit

Courageousness and valour

Merged with adultery of the weak

Crowns eventually toppled

to riotous dismay

Castles turned into prisons

Prosperous captured by their slaves

Envy was forsaken

Suddenly, twisted into greed

Paupers reigned with vengeance

leaving carnage in their wake

Serfs rules the land

for a single day

Scattering a legacy of intolerance

indignity and hate

Royal courts diminished

Kings purses went unchecked

Valliant poor pillaged everything

only the Religious veil was left

Doctrine another reason

treating man for his  sins

Masquerading as perfection

reasoning at will

Nicely written, I liked it. I mean, it's different from what I normally read, but different is nice. Thanks for the post! :)
