I felt somewhat... "objectified" as part of the male species when I first read this, lol. ;P
But I understand it. I know too many friends of mine that treat women like s**t and are utter scumbags, but I am not one of them. I know you are perhaps portraying only a significant minority of Men in this poem.
Still it's quite good in a sad but uplifting way. It almost sounded like a woman's perspective from the 1950's traveling to the present era. I like it.

If a 50's woman has come to the present she would find that men are now very different. in the sense they mostly dress like boys, are less responsible, and just the roles our genders are meant to play are very different now.
even though plenty of men disrespect women today, that was the case also in the 50's when a woman was viewed as less than a man and can't perform most of the jobs men do, such as engineering. but with the changes that happened over the years and women becoming more liberated and having more rights, came high independence as well in which man took advantage of and became just plain lazy.
if we talk about basic nature and instincts, women like to depend on men, we look to trigger that hero instinct in them. As I search for a "man" today in a country where the ratio of man to women is 4:1 all I can see is boys. this doesnt apply to the whole world of course, but where I live the men here just want to spend their money on cars, girls, and travel,, while in pursuit of a mature woman just to fool around with. It's pretty disgusting.
The way a person presents themselves is important. there is a surplus of men where I am from but yet they remain scarce. no quality at all.
so this poem is my frustration with that.
the same can be said for my gender in which the majority of 14 year old girls act as if they are 30.
to quote the film The Intern (paraphrasing) " men have gone from being men to boys, and girls to women"
I might be idealistic in thinking that sometimes we should stick to our roles in society but that isnt asking for too much. we should live our age and act our gender. and at least try to be responsible with other people's feelings.

Most guys in their twenties only care about casual sex, money, partying, drinking, being stupid, etc. It's almost as if they are proud to be ignorant and unintelligent. Most guys I know can barely read, let alone have an intelligent discussion on anything. When I was a teenage boy in high school, I couldn't stand my male and female peers because I was writing, reading E.A. Poe and Oscar Wilde and I thought they were all immature morons.

My simple reply to that is, I have a thousand lives not one, because reading allows us to live the lives of many including our own.
I remember in high school I spent my breaks in the library when others spent it flirting and just living up to labels.
Wonderful poem, I especially liked the last line. It was cool how the first stanza was so positive, only to have the second stanza shove the truth in you face.

Welcome to the real world. I like your view on this but I must say, men are not the only disappointments one must face.

I think the most who can relate to this are the people with corrupt governments and living in war zones.
