The Fool Who AssumedA Poem by Lady PearlA poem about a man who assumedAll you have are suppositions You held on to as the truth Twined in your mind With incomplete conversation Your own imagination Misguided information All to spin the perfect tapestry On your idealistic loom And so the picture didn't match reality Once the image has been complete And you became quick to blame That I had lead you to this deceit When in fact you had failed to listen To my warnings asking you to retreat I tried to be kind But you are so inclined To make me into something I'm not So I ended the dream With an honest scream "The art of speculation Has made you the victim of your own mind" Spin a noose from the thread you used And kill the tapestry You've sewn This is who I really am And if you can't handle that I'm gone
