Giving up on love

I do not seek love
I can claim that on that notion
I've long given up
My heart has but a beat left
And my mind has taken the task
To guard it best it can
It displays me in a withered appearance
It holds my tongue from conversation
In defense it has made me repugnant
None would venture close enough
I am more or so
Safe.

in short, the love makes us all vulnerable... & may be, drags us so far from ourselves to some extent. when your fun starts getting turned into an addiction, it's better either to quit that fun or replace it with something that feeds on your heart with peace. that's all what you doin': "feeling safe". quite an interesting poetry you've come up with. nice imagery here!
