The Man in The Mask

The Man in The Mask

A Poem by Ladyinblck

Your feelings only mattered to a degree, precisely measured to fit the mask of his untruest feelings or maybe just until SHE returned.
To have lost a love never explored in it's intricacies.
To forcefully ween off thoughts of what could of been.
To come to the realization that you were just the numbing agent needed to drown the sorrows of a man in love with someone that is not you.
But this man isn't a man.
In his quest for self loathing he has mangled you in his webs of cowardice untruths.
With every word written or spoken, with every single divine encounter, the intimate moments filled with flames of passion surmounting the worlds highest peaks, a piece of you has become his now.
You loved, you loved deeply and you loved true.
The truest love when given brakes away from your reach, unanswering to your calls.
Instead it will forever answer to him now, the man in the mask.
